Everyone who wants to start as a writer can use book reviews as their stepping stone. Those who want to become bloggers can also start out their career by writing reviews for every genre, whether it be love comedy or sci fi horror. In order to make good reviews for the book you have just read, here are the tips that you should take note of.

First, it is imperative that your review contains a synopsis of the book. The synopsis is basically just the same as a summary of the story. Do not use the teaser posted at the back of the book. You got to make your own synopsis to make the review entirely yours. Offer a fresh take on the story by writing your own summary.

Reviewing the chosen book might tempt you to give out as much information as you can but that should not happen. Do not ever spoil the fun of the story by stating what the ending will be like or what the plot twist is. You got to let your readers feel that excitement. When reviewing, decide the information that you can and cannot include.

Every story has key characters. You have to talk about them when you are writing the review. For the key characters, you have to give them a run down regarding their motivations in the story, their unique quirks, as well as the importance they have in the story. The review will be made interesting if you work out their connections too.

Every book has their own significance in the literary world. If you are writing the review, then you should be aware of what the book's significance is. It can be that there is a deeper meaning to the story and you have to break it down to the readers. It can be about the society or it can be about current human conditions.

Balance things out when you are writing the review. You should not be overly negative because others might just see that as bashing. Avoid being overly positive too because the readers might think of it as a bias toward the author of the book. Maintain your balance.

Do not hesitate to ask questions. Most people find questions fun. If you can use questions to stir up the imagination of the readers, then that should be good. Place good questions to draw people in. By using questions, you might be able to point out the questions in the back of the reader's mind that has been bugging him or her unconsciously.

Try to work in a few links into the said review. You got to give them these links if you want the readers to obtain more information on the book. There are many types of links you can use. It can be a URL to the writer's website, to sites where the book is being sold, and so much more.

Having your own quirks and flair in your writing is good. It will allow you to write a review that is distinctively yours. You can then set yourself apart from others. Your review will be more memorable if you add your own flavor into it.
