At the time God called Noah to build the ark, he was already 480 years old. Noah did everything God asked him to do so today, he is celebrated by so many. There are a lot of things to learn from the account of Noahs flood. Here you shall see at least seven of them.

The first thing that is noticeable in the account is Noah's obedience. Noah was willing to do what God was instructing him to do despite his age. It is possible that his willingness must have attracted God's grace upon him to do the job according to all the specifications that were given to him. Bringing in all the animals was also another task but Noah did not disobey even though it must not have been an easy task either.

To think that God will spare a sinner is to make a mistake. Some argue that it is impossible for God to allow evil to befall someone but this account proves them wrong. God is both a loving father and a righteous judge. His disapproval of evil makes it unbearable when he wants to punish disobedience.

Many people have been caught unawares by danger despite God's warning because He acts slowly sometimes. This is another example that debunks the idea. The people of Israel did not listen to Noah's advice probably because they thought that God had forgotten what He said. Whenever He makes a proclamation, it is good to take note of it as it will surely come to pass.

The flood also makes it crystal clear that God is merciful in his anger. Even though He was furious and planned something bad, he tried to look for a way of escape for those who would believe. So it is right when Christians call him a "merciful God" and "the consuming fire."

The story of Noah and the flood also explains that when one is in God, he is fully protected from evil even though they may not be far. Men, therefore, ought to turn to God for protection rather than seek other means of doing so. While sin deprives one of God's protection, abiding in Him brings man's redemption. With all the troubles in the world today, man is better off serving God.

Noah did not give consent to the mockery of those around him. He was determined to do everything that God had commanded him to do and he did it gladly. He believed every word that God said concerning the impending doom even though it had never happened before. He is also a man of faith like one of his fathers, Abraham.

The account of Noah and the ark is an ageless story. As long as the world remains, its lessons remain vital for anyone who is serious about following God. It is useful to encourage those who dare to be different in areas that are inflicted with corruption, immorality, and sin in general. It is there a Christian's responsibility to let everyone know that God is always watching to know those who are always faithful to Him.
